Magnificent beauty ebbs the flow of time and fear is a dirty thief

If the scary things scare you
And you're just scared
     the happy things
     will get taken away
And if a life of fear
     is all you know
     it's under your skin
     and in your bones
Then you look away
     for a kiss, for love,
     for momentary glory
And the fear melts away
     or is forgotten
When it rushes back
     or creeps in again,
How much life have
     you lost, or gained?

I miss you

I don't have much of a way
to reach the stars,
except through my pain...

Cleared up

If you open your eyes and
it's suddenly all there in front of you —
so clear,
you may wonder
where has it been all along?
Have I been living inside a Paul Simon song
for much too long
and my eyes distorted my soul
or did my soul poetize the vision
and I couldn't see the plain truth
without the benefit of not looking?

Soft breeze warning

Wind, clouds...
Am I feeling full
or empty
Breeze softly blowing
Hurricane, tornado, Life
Weather in my soul
Things come out of the blue.

Can't hide

Can you love so much it hurts
and is numbness good protection?
It will find a way over the wall.

Why, Conservatives?

If the same ol' world is getting worse, why would you want to keep things the same?
