Words in the sun

Body, flesh, words, ink
Spirit, soul, heart
Green, scarlet, glowing
I am an artist, a writer, a lover
Roots, blood, love, song
Earth, warm, violet hue
Bees buzz, birds chirp
Sadness burns to joy
Living negates, equates, calms pain.

Iridescent

The years sprint, sail, drift, fly —
Days melt into sleep
Decades we no longer know —
By taste or smell, yes — but
Hard, fast memories tend not to keep
Youth lives on — yet, is long gone
Birds chirp each Spring anew
But our hearts sing the same shades
Of childhood colors we once knew

Trees at the park, trees in my heart

Trees are love
Trees are life
Long-standing hearts of Nature
Absorbers of human strife.

But I cry, "please give me a chance to acknowledge you back"

Life winks as it passes me by
And is gone before my own blink of eye.

Gratefulness & awe

Whether it flies away easily or is grounded
if it drifts like the clouds or grows like a weed,
nourishes or delights,
the gratefulness & awe
sit and stay — and flow.

My heart

Heart & me
Fragile
and strong
Broken
and whole
Loving,
and loving.
