Romance is a tasty poison

Romance is a tasty poison.

—Terri Guillemets

P.S. Later came across "Amor es un sabroso veneno," or "Love is a tasty poison," paraphrased from Comedia de Calisto y Melibea, circa 1499, considered to be the first novel or play of the Spanish Renaissance. Other translations have it as "a delicious poison" or "a savory poison." The passage reminds me of the proverb "Love is a sweet tyranny, because the lover endureth his torments willingly."
